Board of DirectorsUnder AIM Qld & NT's Constitution a Board of representative members is chosen by the Professional Members of the Institute. Directors of the Board have a three year term to a maximum of two consecutive terms. The following members of the AIM Board have been elected for the 2010 - 2011 term.
His most recent role was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MultiTrode Pty Ltd, a privately held technology company with its headquarters in Brisbane and offices in the United States and the United Kingdom. MultiTrode exports world class ICT control and monitoring solutions for the water and wastewater industry in over 15 countries. Prior to joining MultiTrode, Wayne was CEO of National Transport Insurance (NTI) an internationally recognised leader in specialist insurance. Under Wayne’s leadership NTI was awarded the Asian Insurance Innovator of the Year in 2004. From 1995 Wayne was State Manager for the leading car insurer AAMI in Queensland. Wayne is a past chairman of AIM committees in Far North Queensland, Central Queensland and on the Gold Coast. Wayne is a past director or chairman of numerous volunteer and charity organisations and is actively involved in coaching early career executives. He is a director of private investment companies and through his consulting business a sought after advisor to technology and clean-tech companies looking to build value or expand overseas. He holds a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor Degree in Business and Associate Diploma in Accounting.
He is a Commissioner for the Australian Fair Pay Commission, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mike has recently been appointed to the board of The Jonathan Foundation, a charity for disabled people. He has also served as a Director of the Heart Research Institute Association (Qld), and for many years was a member of the Small Business Advisory Panel to the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Previously Bob spent 10 years with PMG/Telecom, first as a Technician, then as a Senior Telecommunications Consultant, 9 years as State Manager of STC (now Alcatel) and 7 years as State Manager of Ericsson Australia. Bob has completed communications study tours of Austria, Vietnam, USA, Singapore, Israel and New Zealand and, as current President of the Australia Israel Chamber of Commerce (QLD), joined a Trade Mission to Israel led by the Hon Alan Stockdale. He is a Board Member of the Balmoral Arts Academy, and Chairman of Queensland Government Bayside Health Community Council looking after the Redlands Hospital, Wynnum Hospital, Moreton Bay Nursing Care Unit and the Bay Islands. He sits on the Lord Mayor's Multicultural Round Table in Brisbane and is a founding Board Director of Sheldon College and the Sheldon College Foundation.
She is responsible and accountable through her executive team for Queensland’s retail network that includes 166 corporate outlets, 465 licensed post offices and 190 community postal agencies. The Commercial Division has more than 1450 employees. Together with the Mail and Networks Division, the Queensland team operates with a $880m revenue budget and contributes more than $140m to Australia Post’s profit. Helen is currently a Board Member and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management in Queensland, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Vice Chairman of the Starlight Children’s Foundation Advisory Board. She joined the QUT Faculty Academic Board (Business) in 2008 and has this year undertaken the role of President, Fostering Executive Women, QUT Alumni. She has held board positions including Chairperson of the Australian Post-Tel Institute Queensland and the Australian Federation of Business and Professional Women. She holds a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Company Directors Diploma. She has participated in leadership programs with the Leadership Consortium, Mt Eliza Business School and in 2008, Harvard Business School. She has been able to share her broad experience and leadership skills through being a member of judging panels for RSL Girl in a Million Quest and Australian Institute of Management Brisbane Manager of the Year. Helen chaired the Management Excellence Awards for the AIM (Qld & NT) from 2007 - 2009. Her highly successful career at Australia Post includes highlights such as being part of the ground-breaking project team that led the transformation of Australia Post into the largest retail network in the country. She gained valuable line management experience in her roles as Area Manager for the Sunshine Coast region leading both retail and delivery operations and in her role as Area Manager for South Queensland. She had broad exposure to the business and has worked in finance, mail network, retail, marketing and sales. She was State Sales and Customer Relations Manager , including 110 seat Call Centre prior to her current position of Commercial Manager, Queensland.
Grant was a partner of a leading Brisbane law firm for 10 years prior to undertaking private business consultancy for a number of professional firms focused on strategic direction and growth. Grant has a Bachelor of Laws, a Master of Laws, a Master of Business Administration, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. Robert Thomas is Chairman of McColl's Group Transport, Director of the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, Director of Australian Institute of Management in Queensland and CEO of Greyhound Australia. Robert has a career spanning 20 years in leadership and management that has taken him to countries in Europe, America and Africa. Robert is a Fellow of Australian Institute of Management in Queensland and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Robert’s skills base includes extensive global cross industry experience at senior executive level through the logistics, procurement, finance, automotive, investment banking, property development and tourism sectors. His areas of expertise include strategic planning and implementation, international marketing and sales management, logistics and supply chain solutions, strategic stakeholder engagement management and strategic negotiation experience within the Government and non-Government sectors. Before joining Greyhound, Robert was Director of Operations at Linfox where he managed a team of 25 senior executives and a workforce of 1700 people. He was also responsible for full profit and loss for the $500 million business. Robert's previous experience also included 5 years with General Motors, 9 years with Renault as well as positions in the Investment Banking, Property Development and Engineering industries. His formal qualifications included Engineering (UTS), Business-Marketing and Finance (UTS) as well as post graduate studies at Harvard.
