This exclusive 4-week program has been developed by renowned Psychologist and Professor of Management, Dr Andrew Hede FAIM. It is based on established mindfulness techniques that have been validated in international scholarly and professional journals.
The program is designed specifically for executive managers and senior professionals. It provides new insights into your own inner dynamics as well as proven techniques you can use to reduce stress and increase well being in your daily life on a sustainable basis.
Weekend Intensive (4.30pm Fri – 4.30pm Sun)
Experience 5-star luxury at Noosa's iconic Sheraton Resort & Day Spa as you learn how to reduce stress using mindfulness.
Diagnostics will be provided to enable you to monitor your improvement. You will receive training in stress reduction techniques which you can incorporate into your everyday life so as to improve your productivity and effectiveness.
You will leave the weekend intensive with your own tailored action plan for reducing stress each day. During the four weeks after the intensive you will be able to liaise with Dr Hede
online or by phone for guidance about your ongoing stress reduction program.
At the follow-up workshop at AIM in Brisbane (Thursday 6pm to 9pm), Dr Hede will give you individual feedback on your progress and expert advice to ensure the sustainability of your daily stress reduction practices.
Registration
The 4-week program is strictly limited to a maximum of 14 participants (with 2 presenters). The all-inclusive fee is $4,400 which covers all mindfulness training and intensive costs (luxury accommodation, gourmet meals, Day Spa treatment) as well as full program notes, diagnostics, audio CD, 4 weeks supervised practice, follow-up workshop, and individualised report on your diagnostics.
Presenter Profile - Dr Andrew Hede FAIM
Andrew Hede is currently Professor of Management and was formerly Foundation Dean of Business at University of the Sunshine Coast (1995-2000). He graduated in the mid-70s from Sydney University with a doctorate in Psychology. He also has an Honours and a Masters degree and successfully completed the Summer Intensive Program at the Carl Jung Institute in Switzerland. He is a Consultant Psychologist and has been registered as a psychologist for more than 15 years. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Dr Hede has had extensive experience as a senior manager in the Australian Commonwealth and State public services as well as private sector experience as the inaugural director of the Public Policy Research Centre in Sydney in the mid-1980s. His publications comprise more than 100 papers including government reports, books as well as academic and professional journal articles. He has provided management and research consultancies to large organisations in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
Dr Hede has been researching and teaching in the area of mindfulness for over five years. He has reviewed the more than 300 scholarly papers on mindfulness published in the past two decades. He has undertaken training courses in all the major approaches to mindfulness, namely: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy. In addition, he has had extensive practical experience in both the Western and Eastern ancient traditions that underpin the modern practice of mindfulness in Psychology and Behavioural Medicine.
In early 2010, the Journal of Management Development is publishing Dr Hede’s paper titled “The dynamics of mindfulness in managing emotions and stress”. This is the first scholarly paper to address mindfulness in a mainstream Management journal. This article offers a new model of the human psyche which takes account of its capacity to practise mindfulness.
Drawing on his own experience and training in mindfulness as well as his extensive review of the relevant literature and his new model of the psyche, Dr Hede has developed this innovative program in stress reduction tailored specifically for busy executives and senior professionals.
