Feminised Capitalism - The New Narrative for Business

Location: Brisbane
Date: Wednesday 14 March 2012
Event Series: Wine and Sign

Professor Ken Parry FAIM is not your average academic. He is entertaining, forthright and has decades of experience in growing leaders in Australia, Asia and New Zealand.

This AIM Wine & Sign session will be based around Ken's recently published book, A Very Short, Fairly Interesting and Reasonably cheap Book About Studying Leadership, co-authored with Brad Jackson. Now in its second edition, this book is for anyone who wants to study and understand leadership – especially those in management or business.

Drawing from his non-conventional body of work, Ken will present recent insights into leadership to help you to develop your leadership more effectively. Case studies from industry, world events and from the arts will help business managers to be better at what they do.
Ken will cover:

  • What is pragmatic leadership?
  • What is the spirituality of leadership?
  • How to make sense of the language of organisations
  • How to be more charismatic in business life and enhance your leadership as a result

This event will encourage dialogue about leadership styles and how good leadership makes a fundamental difference to any workplace. Participants will gain insights into taking the weight of leadership off your shoulders, and influencing others with the use of the stories that float around in organisations.
