AIM's Management Debate is set to invade Mackay this March - 2010 Debaters and local personalities announced!

Mark it in your diary - Tuesday 23 March 2010 is the date for the Mackay business event of the year - the annual Mackay Great Debate presented by the Australian Institute of Management.

Network with local business leaders as six members of the Mackay business community battle it out and tackle the provocative topic "That combining sustainable practices with bottom line profits is a manager's pipe-dream".

With such great personalities at the podium, the debate is guaranteed to be an entertaining and hotly contested affair.

Our special guest adjudicator knows a thing or two about sustainability… Greg served as the Mayor of Mackay from 1991 to 1994, during which time he redeveloped the City Heart, prepared a counter-disaster plan for Mackay, established a kerbside recycling scheme, and doubled Mackay's water treatment plant capacity.

Narelle Pearse
CEO, Regional Economic Development Corporation
Narelle commenced her career in Brisbane as a Chartered Accountant and Chief Financial Officer for a freight forwarding company. She holds a Bachelor and Masters of Commerce, Executive MBA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology.

Director, Out of the Blue Marketing
Kylie is a Mackay local through and through. She formed Out of the Blue Marketing in 1996 and has transformed it into a thriving consultancy, employing seven creative minds that provide marketing and graphic design solutions to regional clientele. She holds a number of board positions, including chairing the Mackay Chamber of Commerce.

General Manager, ILC Mackay
Philip has 28 years experience within varying logistics environments including experienced in Supply Chain Management, Cold Chain and Bulk Fuel handling systems using both deployable and fixed networks. Phil has extensive experience in multi-nodal supply chains utilising both air and sea lines of communication. Philip reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the British and Australian Defence Forces.

Mick is a Queensland native who has 20 years experience in heavy industry and mining gained in the resource and infrastructure industries of Australia, Indonesia and the United States. Mick is the Chief Executive Officer and a founding shareholder of G&S Engineering Services overseeing 1,000 staff operating in three states.

Megan McKee

Bank Manager, Westpac
With over 12 years of banking and management experience, Megan is passionate about helping people achieve their financial goals. Currently, Megan is completing an Executive MBA through the Queensland University of Technology and has found this has assisted her in both leading her team and servicing her customers.

Cr Darryl Camilleri

Cr Darryl Camilleri
Deputy Mayor, Mackay Regional Council
Councillor Camilleri is responsible for the Council’s Finance and Technology portfolio, on top of remaining a partner at the accounting practice, Bennett Partners. Darryl has served as Chairman for a number of community organisations, including the Mackay Whitsunday Regional Economic Development Corporation and the Mackay & District Health Council.
