Managers succeed or fail at work one conversation at a time... Learn how to approach robust conversations, build resilience and communicate with clarity and impact

It's a fact - robust conversations won't always be comfortable but they should be fruitful… and having robust conversations at work is a fact of life for resilient managers.

Resilient managers must be able to communicate thoughts and feelings accurately to those with whom they work, every day in a myriad of situations.

Mastering the art of difficult conversations is one of the most useful ways for managers to take charge of their own development and to build skills that will make a difference to individuals, teams and the entire organisation.

Productive, planned and purposeful conversations can resolve business critical issues, be an effective approach to one on one coaching, improve delegation, and assist in confronting issues that impede workplace relationships.

The ability to engage in conversations with senior executives, peers and colleagues takes practice and discipline to ensure that organisational and personal goals are met and that the individual manager's skills at initiating, conducting and concluding conversations are honed to a point of expertise.

Anne Gately FAIM, has over 30 years in management practice with experience at senior levels within business and industry. As one of Queensland 's leading and most engaging communications experts, Anne will explore:

  • Communication principles: How to be relevant and purposeful
  • Establishing rapport and tapping into emotions
  • Mastering the art of observing and interpreting others
  • Preparing and understanding self
  • Developing a written plan for difficult conversations

Book now for this highly practical, business relevant session designed for managers at any level who value and understand the power of communicating with meaning and impact.

This special breakfast event will incorporate the launch of the 2010 AIM Rockhampton Management Excellence Awards where you will have the opportunity to hear from the 2009 State Young Manager of the Year winner, Barbara Miller.
