Managers to Leverage the Power of Free

The Australian Institute of Management is opening its doors for its annual Open House on Wednesday 4 August 2010.

Open House will feature 17 free sessions on current topics of interest to managers and is part of AIM’s National Networking Week (2 - 8 August 2010).

“There’s a great line up of speakers, all senior practising managers talking about ‘finger on the pulse’ topics,” said AIM Interim Chief Executive Officer Vivienne Anthon FAIM.

“We’re leveraging the power of free to share knowledge with managers who want to become more effective in today’s workforce,” she said.

“This year we are excited to announce the program includes international speaker and famed “Nametag Wearer” Scott Ginsberg, speaking on the topic of ’The Power of Free’.

“Scott’s presentation will be particularly relevant and engaging because the introduction of social and new media is changing the face of marketing… openly sharing knowledge and expertise is now a way to grow your business,” Ms Anthon said.

Each free session runs for an hour with time for questions from the audience. The idea is for managers to drop in for a while or all day and bring themselves up date on the latest management trends, skills and resources all while networking with other managers and leaders.

The program includes a variety of topical sessions including ‘Apps for Managers: 10 stand-out iPhone/iPad apps for productivity’ presented by social technology expert and researcher Paul Holland FAIM, ‘Resilience for Managers’ with resilience practitioner Michelle Christodoulou AFAIM and ‘Robust Conversations: The resilient manager’s secret weapon’ with Anne Gately FAIM.

AIM Open House is an exceptional day of professional development for managers, with all registered attendees going into the draw to win a brand new Apple iPad and an AIMQ Online Diploma of their choice valued at over $2000.
